How do i get my gerbil to stop chewing on the cage bars?

My gerbil Sadie-Rose keeps chewing on the cage bars. I blew on her face to make her stop but she didn't, I splashed water on her and she stopped for a while but then started again. I have things for them to chew on like toilet paper tubes, a chew stick, and an edible log. I'm afraid they can get hurt from the bars, please help!
