General questions about Betta fish?

Bettas need at least a 5 gallon aquarium equipped with a heater and a filter. I am not sure about well water but don't use distilled. Bloodworms are a treat. Their staple diet should be a betta pellet or flake with over 40% protein. I prefer females but it is a matter of opinion. They love real plants and I think real gravel would look best.
