Is It ok to be a 12 year old scene kid?

I'm 12 and i want to know if its ok to be scene. Im not doing the whole POW LOOK AT ME AND MAH CRAZY HAIR thing, but just black hair (my natural color is black) and blond extensions with a liiiiitle poof on top. i asked my dad and he said it was to old for me, but if i like it i could try it. Im not looking to be a poser or anything but i like the hair and stuff. so i ask: what kind of clothes do they wear? ( so i can wear it sometimes) and is it age appropriate?
